Your who thinks it's pancreatic cancer? My father was having his liver checked (via a CT scan) and pancreatic cancer was found. The problem with the pancreas is the fact it 'hides' behind other organs. If we could open ourselves up and someone was looking at us, they could only see the head and tail of the pancreas. This is why pancreatic cancer is so difficult to detect.

I just asked my mother and she told me his doctor thought he felt a tumor on his liver, but the CT scan confirmed it was on his pancreas which is of course pancreatic cancer. If memory serves, right before his scan, his urine was orange and he was jaundiced. I imagine he felt really poorly.

If you even have an inkling that this is what it is, you need to be seen NOW. Pancreatic cancer does not screw around and by the time it's found, it's usually too late. Based on what you have told me, I'm inclined to think it isn't that, but it won't hurt to talk to your doctor. Ask him what they were specifically looking for in the CT scan.

How old are you? It's usually seen in people 60+, but my dad was diagnosed at 57 or 58.

Well, if you're 27 and your pancreas checked out okay, then I would say you're good there. It's not unheard of for younger people to get it, but it isn't very common. Do you smoke? Do you live a sedentary lifestyle? Those things increase the likelihood. Then again, I'm no doctor, but if we all went by what web sites say, we would worry ourselves into an early grave.

Do this for me. Call your doctor, tell him what you told us, and report back with his comments.

I wouldn't expect gallstones would impact the left side as the gallbladder is firmly on the right. Gallbladder attacks are absolutely brutal. By surgery, do you mean you're having it removed?

It sounds like you have had the correct tests done and they have come back clear which is good news but if you are still experiencing symptoms I would go and see your doctor but i'm sure you will be fine. Try your best not to goggle your symptoms as this will only make things worse for you and leave the diagnosing to your doctor.

Irish, please watch your diet, it can cause you much pain and stress, almost all the women in my family
have had theirs removed by the age of 30, most have had the lypo removal. Peace

You may be experiencing referred pain on your left side. These are pains felt outside the source or origin of the pain...and are just sort of a mixed up signal between the nerve receptors and the brain.

So likely your discomfort is simply from your gallbladder...and you are having that taken care of soon!.:)

My step dad just had this about 6 months back, and did so well! He feels so much better now, and I am sure will as well.:)
