Feeling Anxious and Sadness, Need Some Positive feedback please

I have been feeling anxious and sadness in the levels of 2-4 (on a scale of 10) for a few hours most days. I have been recovering from pretty severe anxiety that got worse by increases of Zoloft which was working against me (I was under a wrong pdoc's care)
I am pretty calm and happy most evenings, and this feeling of anxiety lasts a few hours at times. It has been slightly over a year since my episode started and I want this thing to be over. I meditate about 15 minutes a day, socialize despite some anticipatory anxiety, go for walks 2-3 times per week (I am in good shape, but do not exercise on regular basis). I am in therapy two times a week. I have been on 20mg of Lexapro and 1mg of Klonopin for about 7 months.
Is this still part of recovery?
I had one episode of this 15 years ago and they put me on Zoloft and Klonopin back then and I think within 3-4 months, I am back to normal self, actually a better self. This time, it is taking its time.

Remember that you are 15 years older this time. ;) Sorry, but it's true.

I used to have a much easier time fighting my anxiety, but now that I'm almost 48, it isn't as easy. Our bodies change as we age, and just like other health issues are harder on us, so is anxiety.

I'm sorry you are going thru this bout of anxiety Lexa, remember this too shall pass. We all have our ups and downs what we must do is concentrate on the up times and remember them during our down times. You got thru this before and you will get thru it again. Yes it is taking longer, but there is light at the end of the tunnel and you will see it again, I Promise.

I totally feel like crying when I get anxious and when I do, it feels amazing! Have a good cry! Maybe you'll feel better. It's a great release.

When I get overwhelmed with feeling anxious, I start to think that my life has become something that I have a hard time accepting. Just about a 14 months ago, I was a happy person with a lot of ambition. Today, I am getting there slowly with a lot of push and non acceptance. I know a lot of people with anxiety that have completely recovered. I am among those people myself from my experience 15 years ago. I have the hope that I will get to where I want to be, but at times, I lose that hope and think this is going to be it and that is when the urge for crying comes in.
I hope and pray for all of those who struggle in their lives, especially with anxiety and depression. Although they are both highly treatable, it can take a some time.
Any words of encouragement please?

Thank you S.C. I truly appreciate your comment. It is so true. The Chronic part is what is discouraging to me. Is there any way I can look at that word in a positive way?

Lex, i was 48 when i had my first panic attack, went to ER thought i was dying, that was the beginning,
we are lucky in many ways what we have is a condition, not a disease, it is treatable with or without drugs,
one thing i am thankful for is i can now reach out to people who need help and i totally understand what
they are dealing with, Peace

I truly hope we are come to the end of this phase of our lives as it can be difficult on some days.
Is there a rating for how high a person's anxiety is? most times, I have low levels of it, but it still bothers me and not sure how to communicate this to my doctor and therapist (the level I mean).
