Zoloft? benefits downside?

Zoloft worked great for me. it does take some time to really kick in. As with any meds pay attention to side effects. I am now weaning off of it as it game me terrible muscle and joint pain after taking it for a while.

Give it a chance to work but if your concerned give the doctor a call.

Everyone is going to react in a unique way to any given medication. While it is good to have an idea of what other's experiences are...

...the bottom line is...you'll just need time to see how this Rx works for YOU.

Initially the brain senses the introduced Seratonin (from the medication) and therefore ceases production...actually lowering the level, until the autorecptors figure out what is going on, and allow the SSRI to be put to use.

This is why initially, you feel worse, thinking the med is not working...when in fact, the opposite is likely true!

There needs to be some patience during the start up time. It can be rough, but worth the wait!

Hang in there and use your coping skills to get you through.
