Although getting out for a walk is great it's not always possible. Some other options for exercise: Stretching exercises, balance exercise, Pilates bands/Therabands, working with weights, Yoga, to name a few. When exercising you need proper breathing techniques so this give you an opportunity to practice your breathing, get some exercise and the focus it requires.
Exercise, including the above mentioned can help decrease and/or improve pain, fatigue, stiffness, muscle tension, core strength and muscle tone. Within as little as a week of inactivity you can lose core strength and muscle tone.
