I am now in a full blown anxiety attack. this pressure in my head is at its worst right now. the whole top of it, the sides, my forehead, my neck into my shoulders feel tight - my ears feel clogged. I really feel like Im going to die at any minute. I cant take this anymore. I just cant.

Breath. In for 4 and out for 4, focus on the numbers.

Panic attacks are not dangerous. They just feel that way.

I know. I don't think the panic will kill me. but I think I have an aneurysm and its going to burst and I am going to die. that one second I will be here and the next second I will be gone. I don't know how to do this.

I also had my Effexor increased from 150 to 225 and im wondering if this could be a side effect from that too?

NMP, nothing is going to happen, nothing, i had exactly the same symptoms, so even if you pass out you will be ok.
If you have any kind of med for this take one and then do something to distract your self. Peace

Panic attacks are the bane of my existence, NMP. I bet your med increase has a lot to do with it. Stay strong! We're rooting for you!

a bit better. I did not take the extra Effexor last night. I still have a weird feeling on the top of my head and sometimes on the side near my right temple but its not as bad as last night. when I stretch my neck or raise my eyebrows in a facial stretch I can feel the tightness around my head. tense muscles? I keep reminding myself that if it was something a lot worse that the pain would be getting worse and not moving around my head like it is doing. right?

Right...these are transient anxiety/side effect symptoms to be sure.

Have you called your doctor about decreasing back down?..

...or an alternative plan for your Rx?

I just went back to my regular dose of 150 mg. so I only took the 225 mg for 2 days. I haven't talked to my dr yet. unfortunately he is back where we moved from - about 30 min away so not too bad but with the kids in school plus their activities its hard to find an appt. so I don't know if I would even be able to get in there till next week. also im not sure what his next course of action would be - new meds? Idk if I want to change my meds because of the withdrawal from Effexor. I have heard its like coming off heroin. I also have an apt with my ENT for weds. Ive been calling every day to see if they have any cancellations but nothing as of yet.

With your doctor's help, it may not be as hard as.you anticipate.

Get in to consult when you can to discuss the options and put together a plan.

I hate to think of you continuing a med you so strongly dislike.:(
