Lexapro and tired?

I just upped my dose on the final increase of Lexapro to 20mg 6 days ago. It is making me quite tired during the day. For those that have taken it, does it go away? After how long? I know I am still in start up of the increased dose period, but just wondering if it went away for you?

I take it in the morning, because I also am having problems sleeping and don't want to make it worse by taking it at night, at least at this point.

I found that over time you become adjusted to the meds and won't be as tired, that being said I have implemented a 20 minute nap into my daily schedule. I feel really refreshed if I'm able to fit that in.

Thank you. I might try splitting my dose tomorrow to see if it helps.

Hi

It's usual to see an increase in side effects when increasing a dosage but things should get better within a couple of weeks if they don't go back and speak with your doctor.

Lexapro is quite an activating med so it is best taking it first thing in the morning.

It might be activating, but it makes me very tired during the day. Hard to get things done. I am due to take it in a little bit again. I will probably take the full dose again and if I am too tired today, going to try splitting tomorrow. And my pdoc is difficult to get a hold of between appts. And it is difficult to get an appt with a pdoc in this area. I waited 5 months to get into her.

I just started taking a Lexapro 10 mg 3 days ago. I feeling so hopeless right now. I worry about things that are out of my control and I'm hating that I have to rely on an antidepressant. Did anyone go through these same feelings? I feel like the anxiety is getting worse and now I have become unable to sleep which was usually my escape from the thoughts in my brain. I read that it can take weeks to take a effect. Idk how to manage this. I feel like people don't understand what is going on in my mind and live so perfectly while I struggle so much to get through the day
