HELP!!! need a pain management office in New Jersey ASAP

today I went to see my pain management doctor and when I got there the doors were locked. I don't know what happened. but I have been on oxycodone for a few years because of massive back injury and now I have no medication and no doctor. if anybody here is from New Jersey if they know of a pain management doctor that they could advise me to go to I would appreciate it also if you have any advice on how I can handle this. I don't want to get sick on top of massive anxiety please help me if you can

I am sorry to hear this.

Do you have a GP you can call for help? How about your local hospital. ..they may have a referral or resources to help you.

I hope you get the assistance you need soon!

Use your coping skills to stay calm and relaxed until you get the issue resolved.

You will probably do better with a doctor with whom you have a prior relationship. ERs, and doctors generally, can be very wary of patients who come in seeking controlled-substance painkillers, because they can be abused. Of course, you are not someone who would abuse them. But a doctor you have never seen before might not know that. Good luck.

what part of nj and your anxiety may be making the pain worst .... anxiety does that you know

Hi Sickofitall21. I am glad that religion and prayer have helped you. But your signature line is "overtly religious" -- and thus violates this Forum's Rule #6. Can you please change it, to eliminate the references to St. Luke, and glorifying God, and quotes from the Christian bible, and God being a healer, and religious prayer, etc.? (I have nothing against religion, but we should all abide by the forum's rules).

I have had that on up there since 2013 , and why should i change , no one has ever had any problems with it before , and my belelifs anre mine , i didnt suggest that it is anyones or should be anyones , its mine and mines only and i stand firm in my beleifs ...

I see no offense in the sig line.

Rule #6 refers to proselytizing...and since this is simply a statement of SOIA's faith...and not an attempt to change/influence someone else's belief...I will let it stand.

Medved, if you feel differently, you are welcome and encouraged to contact our Admin for further discussion on this of course.

Thanks for your response, S.C. As you suggest, I will raise this with Peter to get his view. I see all this as being a clear violation of Rule 6 -- and totally unnecessary. But I will gladly respect whatever determination the Administrator makes. All the best...

I personally appreciate the biblical verse...
Anyway, I have had a pain management doctor for 10 years and when I went to my appointment earlier this week the doors were locked and that was it I'm looking for a pain management doctor in Bergen County New Jersey I'm looking to start to titrate off this medication. My primary doctor refuses to help me so it's time I guess to find a new one. You are absolutely right my anxiety has skyrocketed and I have been searching for a doctor 4 days if anybody could recommend somebody I would really appreciate it I don't want to get sick or have a seizure. Please help me.

Again, I am sorry to hear about this.:(

Even of your PCP will not prescribe a benzo for you...

He should be willing to help you with a weaning schedule!

Call and ask for assistance...I think you have a good chance of getting the help you need.

If you need alternative or future help. The Road Back site (link in our Resources) has weaning/titration instructions.
