I am so sorry to hear this news...but glad you went in and now have an answer as to why you haven't been feeling well.

Your pneumonia is likely secondary/'walking pneumonia' (bacterial) from the original virus...and therefore not likely contagious to others...
...but only your doctor would know for sure. Did he/she not explain this with you when you went in? You can and should have all you concerns answered. ..so don't hesitate to call if you think of any remaining issues you want to discuss!

I am sure that with your new abx/treatment plan...you will be on your way to recovering fully soon.

Continue to hydrate, get good nutrition and take it easy for a while. :)

I'm terrified. I never had this before. I don't even have a fever. If I didn't go back to dr. I would never have know. Every time she checked my lungs they were clear. So I I didn't do X-ray I would never have known. Now I have to take two new different antibiotics. Has anyone ever had a pneumonia ?

I used to get it all of the time. Mine was from uncontrolled allergies. My sinuses would drain into my lungs at night, and I had Pneumonia several times a year.

It means that your cold/virus started to cause fluid build up in your chest, but they caught it early, and it will dry up very soon with the meds. They usually hit pneumonia with 2 abx so they cover all bases.

It's going to be fine.

My mom and I both have had it before. While it is not good, you will be just fine. The RX will clear it out and as long as there is no fever then the kids should be fine. I am always told that if there is a fever then you can pass it on. You can't pass most things without a fever. As long as you can breathe normal and no fluid I'd sitting in the lungs too long you are fine hun. I had it really bad last year and still made it through.

I had it before when I was 16 and it was a very bad one which nailed me to bed for around 2 weeks.
Got many antibiotic shots by nurses and it hurt like nothing else on this planet when I breathed.
I had high fever also.

So I think if your dr just noticed it in xRay and you don't feel rundown or anything, then do not worry it is not too much problem.
Continue your meds I am sure you will be fine in no time :)

I just finished the zithromax a few days ago, personally didn't have any interactions.

Please, after you talk to your dr., take the meds that are prescribed.

Both of my kids have had pneumonia, my daughter has had it 4 times (she has a mild asthma).We didn't even know she was sick because she was acting completely normal, just had a cough that wouldn't go away.

If you are at home w antibiotics & no fever, you're going to be fine. It would be different if you had a fever or couldn't catch your breath.

I don't know if my chest tightness is because of pnemonia or because my anxiety!!!! This is caused me to panic so much I can't stay calm. Keep thinking Iya going to kill me

I think it is the anxiety...

...you have been really stressed about this in general...

...your doctor said your pneumonia was mild and in its early stages when detected and treatment started...

...and therefore, logically, this sounds more like anxiety, then an illness (that under good control!)
