Hi everyone, hope all are well. Just visited the doctor today and she gave me a script for cymbalta 30 mg 1a day in the morning. Starting it tomorrow, but little nervous. I haven't really heard much about this drug, so wondering if anyone on here is taking it or knows someone who has.

My anxiety gets the best of me when in have to start something new. Normally if in taken a medication I take it at night so I sleep through the side effects, but she insisted it is to be taken in the morning.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated, because I'm very nervous about taking it. Thanks in advance!

Your doctor has likely instructed you to take your Rx in the morning so that it won't interfere with your sleep...

I understand your fear of the unknown...but is it just as likely that you will sail through your start up with no ill effects than not.;)

Try not to anticipate any s/e's because a positive attitude goes a long way in ensuring success!

Practice your coping skills daily to help you feel your best in general. ..

...and keep us posted on your progress, so we can keep you in support!

Thanks for responding, I am trying to keep a positive outlook and positive feeling about it. I have heard bad things about it, but I know everyone is reacts different to medicine.

Try to remember that people tend to post negative....rather than positive reviews of their experiences!

This is human nature. There are just as many, or even more people who have benefited from their medication...

...you just won't read as much info about it! ;)

It is a good drug but can give some ppl constipation.

Hi

I used to take Cymbalta and found it to be a good medication.

It is best to take it in the morning as it is a very activating antidepressant so if you were to take it at night it would keep you awake. I know lots of other people who have also had good results with it so I hope it works well for you keep us posted on your progress.

Took it early this morning and have been throwing up and diarrhea. Called the doctor I guess I'm sensitive to the drug and they told me not to take any more.

I don't do well with antidepressants
