5 + Weeks of Swollen Lymph Nodes .... too long ?

Hi guys ,

I've been having these swollen lymph nodes for quite some time now , around 4-5 weeks .

The first one I got around Late February 20 ish ... I think I got it because I had a big pimple/cyst in the same area and was popping it every day , I also had a minor cold during that time so it could of been form that .

At first I was dead scared because I thought I had HIV and was panicking alot . ( I pray to God I still DO NOT have HIV )

I also have one behind my other ear and that swollen lymph node showed up the same time I had a cyst behind my ear , its a strange coincidence . They do not hurt at all , about a pea sized , both behind the ear .

Im a bit concerned because I read that you might have a problem if the swollen lymph nodes dont go away after 2-4 weeks .... Im really afraid and was wondering if anyone has any experience here , or had swollen lymph nodes themselves . I had these for 4-5 weeks now , is that a bad thing ?

I would suggest you go and speak with your doctor.

I had swollen lymph nodes after having shingles and they took a couple of months to go down and apparently that is quite normal and sometimes they never return to normal size.

You are likely palpating them (feeling/checking them) a lot, right? This will keep them from returning to their normal size as quickly. Try your best to be hands off...I know, easier said than done! :)
