Good Morning,
Has anyone else had issues with using/upping dosage of Lexapro (10MG) and Nausea?
I was upped from 5mg to 10 mg almost two weeks ago. I have been great for the most part, and even got my old appetite back, and very little to no anxiety. Felt like my old self for a short time.
about
4 days ago (Day 11 of the dosage increase), I started getting what I feel is nausea, usually when I eat, but it can happen other times as well. More so when I stand and move around. I also had a loss of appetite, and the first day some chills. It varies in intensity. It seems like yesterday it diminished and even to the point of not really having it last night. But this morning it is back.
I am eating through it normally, and feel OK other than that. The Pharmacy thinks it is a side effect, and said it is a common one. I am going to consult with my Psychiatrist today.
Can the side effect from a dosage increase happen almost 2 weeks in? How long may it last? It has been almost 4 days now? Not sure if I just need to push through? Change meds (I have overall liked Lexapro)?
I do sometimes think it could be something else physical, but I was feeling so good before that, and other than the nausea don't really have anything else I suspect.

WIWO,
Since SSRI's are by design, accumulative in the body... (this is good and keeps levels steady)
... it is not unusual to have effects come up after some time during a start up/increase.
I have nausea at times simply from anxiety/high stomach acid...but since you mention feeling well otherwise...I see why you suspect the Rx itself.
I hope you get the answers you need from your appointment today!
Well wishes.:)

Thank you Scaredy Cat,
The way it came on, presents itself, and the fact it is a common side effect, and that I am only a tick short of 2 weeks into the dosage increase, make me suspect that is what it is.
As I sit here now my stomach is growling to eat, so that is good. Nausea is slight, but again, has not stopped me from eating over the weekend, with the exception of Friday which was the first and worst day I felt it.
Did a ton of yard work this weekend and felt great, and feel pretty good even now. So more than likely it is the meds, but it is still annoying, and as someone who worries about
their health, there are always those thoughts that persist that it is something else.
