I can't take this dizzines.....

I was having slight dizziness prior to start Zoloft. When I started Zoloft I started on 25 mg. it went:
Monday- 25 mg
Tuesday-25 mg
Wednesday & Thursday - 12.5 (I had to split them in half from the horrible side effects I was getting because I'm so sensitive to medicine)
It is now Friday, I went to the doc yesterday and he said stop taking it so I haven't taken any today. and I am still having horrible dizziness. And a slight headache. Shouldn't this be gone by now since I went to a smaller dose two days ago anyway? It's so bad I can't even drive that well sometimes ...
They did check my temp at doctors and I usually run at 97.9 and it was 99.2.... They prescribed me a z pack just incase... Idk what's wrong with me and I feel like this dizziness is never going to go away now or I feel like I'm on the verge of having an anerusym and it's freaking me out. :'(

Hi, it will go away. Just hang in there and rest, probably the most common side effect of A/D is dizziness. Give it time it will go away it won't stick around.

Your system is going through a lot of change right now...

...a start up, a step down, and discontinuation...plus the anxiety that was pre-existing, and is now exacerbated by all of this fluctuation!

Concentrate on practicing your breathing exercises for several rounds of about 10-15 min every day. This should help.

Use your other best coping skills as well to lower your overall anxiety as much as possible.

Did you and your doctor discuss an alternative plan yet?

He wants me to take the z pack (took it this morning) and then start lexapro... I'm too nervous to keep trying different medicines... :(

I just had a really bad heart palpitation in the middle of my chest at the same time I got a really bad dizzy spell ...I'm freaking out :(

I'm sorry you are going through this. :( I know...

...these symptoms are scary, but they are pretty common with anxiety.

Practice the Stress Relieving Exercises in the Resources...and the meditation videos as well if you can...it will help.

Lisa, hope you are settled down, do you have any kind of med to stop panic?
They work, at least take a half and lay down for a while, Peace

I'll share my experience with Zoloft which will hopefully help you overcome using it.

I took zoloft for 7-8 month 3 years ago. I remember the first 5-8 days being rough for me. I had worse acid reflex and stomach discomfort, headaches, head pressure, dizziness, confusion like I would be zoned out, and increased anxiety. But I stuck with it, and after two weeks most of the symptoms had gone away or become minor.

My biggest issue with Zoloft was after being on it for 2-3 months I started to gain weight, and a lot of weight. It doesn't happen to everyone, I have a friend who has been on it for years and never had weight issues. It's something to be aware of to help maintain a healthy weight.

I started March 9 on Zoloft. at 50mg, April 6 went up to 75mg and recently May 28th I upped it to 100 mg. Its a battle and im feeling it bad but you need to stick with the meds for a couple of months to get a full effect. if you keep changing you wont be able to get your body use to the new med. I have exact same symptoms as you. Im in panic mode, dizzy, headaches but im not going to stop yet. I need to give it time for my body to adjust. Praying it will adjust soon. If you need to talk let me know we can do this together. I have two kids so I know what its like to have your hormones everywhere and deal with symptoms.
