Hi Sarakt!
Rockoa's post hit it on the nose. "most people would brush off the silliness and move on but we give those thoughts legs".
I like to write. Examining and expressing complex and anxious thoughts and feelings through the mouth of a fictional character really, really helps me get perspective on what I am experiencing, even when I don't know what's going on. I have random thoughts popping into my head all day every day. Constantly! My brain never shuts up. It can be exhausting but it's kind of fun because I'm never bored. Snippets of conversations with people who don't exist, random lines and strings of words that have no meaning but sound pleasing to me.
In short: having random, nonsensical thoughts is perfectly normal. Some people make their living from the fruits of what comes out when they let their minds wander, no matter how bizarre and outrageous (look at Pendleton Ward, the creator of Adventure Time). If it continues to bother you, you might try making nonsense on purpose. Doodle, write a weird limerick, funky arts and crafts.
Good luck and be well!
