What you described sounds just like what I went through when I was having panic attacks. It is scary, confusing ...and feels so isolating. :(
Since you have been to the ER, they have likely ruled out any physical issue....so now is the time to pursue help for the anxiety/panic.
Make an appointment with your doctor to discuss your experiences, and together, you can come up with a plan of action! Treatment options usually include medication and/or therapy.
For now, you can get started on some self help that is very effective if practiced daily. At the top of the main forum page here, you'll find our Resources. Start with the 'Stress Relieving Exercises' and 'Meditation' links. It will help.:)
