Starting Cipralex (Lexapro)

Can I ask if anyone had terrible headaches? I'm on day 3 and have had horrible headaches within hours of taking the 10mg. dosage. I'm not sure if I'm suffering from sinusitis and it's bad timing or its totally related to the med. The pharmacist said I could take Tylenol and if took the edge off but it's still there along with stuffy nose.
Have a bit of nausea and shakiness as well but think they are related to how bad the headaches were.
Anyone experience this and stuck it out with success?

I was going to mention the hydration connection as well!

...and drinking water will help if it is indeed sinus related...keeping congestion loose and relieving pressure.

If this persists, consult you doctor...but hopefully you'll be feeling better soon.:)

I'm on Lexapro 5mg, and have had headaches a couple of times. But when I started Prozac (another SSRI) I had horrible headaches for about the first 2-3 weeks on and off. Tylenol saved my life haha. It can be a normal start up side effect or it can just be from sinusitis too. Hard to tell. Here's a trick I learned: Hope i'm allowed to post it. I swear by this! Sit by your sink, fill it up with hot water, put your hands and feet in, and then put a bag of frozen veggies on your neck and sit like that for a few minutes. It draws the headache out. I did this a lot while on Prozac also lol.

Yes...'D' unfortunately is a fairly common s/e with and SSRI start up...but it won't last. ..once your system adjusts thing will get back to normal.

As far as your dosing question...as long as your Rx is not a 'time release' pill...it is usually fine to halve the dose...but if you are uncertain...a quick call to your pharmacist should clear it up for you. (or call your doctor tomorrow)
