Panic attacks after surgey

I recently had oral surgery 2 days ago. I was under anesthesia for 7 hours. I am on a lot of antibiotic and medicine. Because of that my anxiety has spiked through the roof. I'm scared, and can't stop shaking. I am prescribed .50 of Xanax. But have been taking .25 until yesterday 3 times a day. Has this happened to anyone else? I feel so alone!

I am sorry to hear of your difficulty in recovery from surgery.:( It is hard enough dealing with just one or the other...but both must be really rough!

Have you dealt with anxiety/panic in the past...or is this something you're experiencing for the first time?

It's not unusual for anxiety to be triggered by a surgery/illness. (or to have it return) Anxiety is opportunistic and will strike when we are vulnerable. :/

However, you can fight back! Its great that you have your meds...keep using them for now....
