Not sure if I am having a panic attack or high blood pressure episode. Trying to relax before I take my bp but that isn't easy. Having tachycardia nausea burping headache chest discomfort and really scared. Can be either spike or panic attack. I hate this. I can handle a panic attack when it means I am still safe but the bp spike can harm me. Can't relax

Ok bp is high but not as high as I had feared. Sorry to post here again tonight freaking out. I am trying to distract myself and calm down. It used to be easier before the blood pressure became an issue.

Well, that is good that you got a better reading than you thought...

...that is progress. :)

Baby steps...and keep working those coping skills.

If your panicked don't do the reading.... Till you have managed to calm somewhat as you know its going to affect the reading....

Pull out every calming coping skill you know and set a time after an hour of Relaxation techniques ... perhaps this could be a goal to set your self everyday.... BP reading AFTER relaxation.... You may need to break the anxiety cycle .....as its happening a lot at night.

You have nothing to lose giving it a whirl but maybe a lot to gain

I always recommend valerian root to calm down. Better than valium. Most health foods carry it. I read a lot of articles on blood pressure and the Best it seems from a lot of reviews to lower blood pressure is cayenne. I'd. Check out the internet on cayenne and blood pressure and make up your own mind.

I'm worried today. There is too much stress. I feel nauseated and my chest hurts. I'm not having a heart attack or anything but the stress is ramping up. Bill worries, job worries, my hubby is leaving for a new job out of state today AND I have a dentist appt to get 3 large stitches out this morning and I hate this very much.

I am sorry today is starting out rough.:( Try and only focus on one challenge at a time.

Use you coping skills and your benzo to help calm the physical symptoms. Positive affirmations are key... so keep your thoughts as free from negativity as you can.

Do some relaxation meditations before your appointment today. It may not be pleasant, but you can get through it.

Save the rest of the concerns for later, when you can constructively take on one or two at a time.

I hope all went well with the stitch removal at the dentists today..
Such a shame yu had other things to cope with at the same time as that makes it so much harder to focus your coping skills on keeping calmer and more relaxed for the dentists.

SC is spot on deal with one issue at a time when your in a better relaxed mood... That way they cannot spiral and fill you full of panic...

If i have too much going on .... I write them down .... and deal with them one at a time then cross off when dealt with.
Even if you cannot sort the actual problem there and then you have aknowledged it and when your feeling stronger you can work on solving it or making it easier...

Got through the Dental visit. Gums look ok. Did have some weird feeling like puffiness under my eye after but it has gone down. One of the fears I have is infection from my ex tooth/gums. This tooth was throbbing before and then I had puffiness under the eye that came and went so I was worried about that but I am glad the gums look decent after getting the stitches out. It still is uncomfortable but I imagine it will be for a bit.

Night has come and now I dread trying to sleep. My husband was home for a couple of nights. Night before last even when he was here I had a full blown panic attack and woke up at midnight with tachycardia, sweating, nausea, the whole mess. I managed to relax and get back to sleep without waking him. I still felt ok though because I knew if I had to, I could get a ride to the hospital. Not so when I am alone.

I'm tired and hope I sleep.

Great job today...and keep up the positive/rational statements about your tooth...well done!
