Your heart is very flexible in terms of how fast or slow it beats. Whether caused by anxiety or a good run or fast cycling, it can rev up quickly and also settle back down quickly. I'm with Larry, if your doc says everything is ok, don't let a rapid heartbeat scare you. When I started cycling and got my heart rate up to 150 or 160 bpm for an hour, I was surprised. Nowadays anything less than 145 is a "slow" beat for me.
