Hei Clemxiii
It is sad that you are suffering this as well! your description is exactly the same as what I am experiencing.
To answer your first questions; I feel like it got worse from the first month I noticed it, it used to be visible only in some specific type of lights/places and at night in the begining, but now, I can see it almost everywhere! in the kitchen, bathroon, bedroom, shops, office, and as you said when I watch TV.
Second answer, I started to have this problem all by sudden 8 months ago. I used to feel some muscle spasm/pressure around my eyes before going to sleep for a short period of time (like 2 weeks/dont remember), then I started to notice this trails! however I am not sure if these two are related or not!
third answer, I did eye lasik surgery 4 years ago to remove glasses, my eyes has been very fine afterwards until 8 months ago, just used to have some sort of dry/sore eyes in the mornings after the surgery which could get better by eye drops ! Have been at a surgeon recently to check if this is related to that eye surgery but according to him everything in my eyes look fine and the surgery looks perfect! So, I doubt if this is related to surgery from 4 years ago either!
fourth answer, seems like I have astigmatism (last eye doctor told me), but according the eye doctor this astigmatism is not something that can be corrected with glasses(perhaps irregular astigmatism type)! I didnt have astigmatism after eye surgery any more, I dont know from where I got astigmatism again! so it might be because of astigmatism!?
fifth answer, I dont know what you mean by star-bursting, but I started to have light sensitivity shortly after these trails become visible in my sight! In addition, I started to have a few floaters in my vision shortly after as well! Which was very disturbing in the begining but now I started to get used to the floaters! but this trails I dont think I can or want to get used to them! I work a lot with computers, so I have sore eyes after working with computer yes.
To summarize, my eyes has been changed in some stupid ways during this 8 months, and it is a shame that doctors cannot quide me! I think me and you should try to find out what is wrong with us! I dont think it is anxiety as well! if it was anxiety it was going to happen only some times and not all the times!
Regards/Nana
Hey Nana,
Very interesting update. I also have been on computer a lot over the last 10 years, many hours with out a break. I wonder if there is a correlation, but seems unlikely aside from perhaps making nearsightedness worse.
What I mean by starbursting is that car lights, lamps, light sources in general, will have rays of light extending off of the source shooting up or down, or to the side, depending on eye issue. This occurred for me in November of 2016 randomly, I also got a few more floaters. I also notice my eyes got a bit more sore easier and if I don't blink frequently I notice a burning sensation. I'm wondering if some eye changes caused this problem. But if it was an eye issue, why is there very little information online about
this? Definitely confusing.
I didn't notice these trails at the time, but around late Jan. I noticed it at night with my hand moving across the keyboard seeing a translucent trail. I then became fixated and concerned about
it, and started noticing it almost all the time. When I see other people moving their hands and such, or on t.v/movies, I don't necessarily see the trial as clear as when I move my own hands in front of my face, but it looks odd, like not as it should be. Hard to explain for me.
I'm wondering if we're overly fixated on this, which is making us more aware of it. But that would assume we had it all along and didn't notice it? That seems odd to me, since it's very noticeable we would of seen it before I would assume.
On Monday I have an appointment, I will also see if my astigmatism is the type that can't be fixed, perhaps there lies the issue.
Do you also notice other issues, such as negative afterimages? If you look at something semi-bright like your screen and look away do you sometimes notice the image or words are sort of burned into your retina for a 5-10 seconds?
I found a website dealing with Visual Snow and other neurological issues and in their glossary (scroll to bottom of the list) of terms/issues they listed trailing like we describe. Perhaps we could ask questions there.
