Call back after Mammogram to have ultrasound. Freaking now

Hi.
I am wondering is there a active thread on others that had had a call back after having a mammogram.
My Gyno called me after having a mammogram and said there was Asymetry on the left breast.
Not knowing what that is. He said radiologist compare previous films and if anything changes they then request a ultrasound. He said there was no masses or lumps that was detected by the mammogram.
I have been freaking out ever since I got the call.
I am scheduled Tuesday May 2nd. (thank God) for the ultrasound I am terrified.
I have researched and researched to no prevail. Nothing brings me comfort.
I know that the odds are good. But my brain won't let that happen.
Please any input and good vibes appreciated.

I understand how you must be feeling at this time. Anxiety blocks out any positive or neutral input we receive...and seems to only focus on the possibility of negative outcomes.

However, your chances of there being absolutely nothing to worry about are totally in your favor. This is likely a matter of your doctor being very thorough...and taking every precaution to make sure that you have the best care possible...

...as well as getting a new baseline for the future.

Keep your thoughts positive, and envision only a good outcome when your mind starts to go elsewhere.

Good luck Winter! Please don't worry at the moment, call backs are very common. If there is a true concern, we'll worry then. How old are you? Oh, I see now...43. I think the "dense breast" thing gets more common with age. I had my first call back at maybe 40? about there? They ruled out anything serious, and now every report since mentions the asymmetry. Hugs, this is scary, but the odds are really in your favor. Best wishes tomorrow!!! Please report back when you hear anything!

When the worriesome thoughts intrude...repeat this mantra:

"It is not time to think about that now."

You can't make the time go faster, or change anything aboutthe situation by focusing on the 'what ifs'...

Easier said than done, I know...but if you are persistent with repeating the phrase, you will find some relief.

Keep busy/distracted, and make sure to keep all of your thoughts positive.
