finally saw dr part 2

started Lexapro today. lets hope for more success than I had with my second round of Zoloft. fingers crossed and pos thoughts

no cat I had been feeling really bad and finally realized I wsnt going to get better on my own . herbal remedies wernt goint to cut it this time(except for kava -which works wonders but could be really bad for your liver. in desperation I bought a bottle and it works fantastic on anxiety-but with risk. I finally realized nothing would not get better till I addressed my depression which came sneaking back so quietly -it was hard to notice. my p dr really stepped up and gave me tons of klonipin and restoril for sleep. I should get tru this fine now

Shoot, I am sorry to hear that it has been so rough. You have been through a lot...and though the crisis has passed, the ups and downs can leave you tapped out...and vulnerable to a relapse.

The good news is that you recognized the need for help early...and you will get back to a good place again soon.

hope it's going well for you, i too switched from zoloft to lexapro and it's been 2 weeks now. night and day diff, have had no side effects from the lexapro and it's going really well for me!

its nite and day diff for me also. even tho this is only day 2 of lex-i can tell a huge difference. I took 1/2 of a klonipin this afternoon as I had a set back at work which set me off a bit. now I wish I had not taken it as I can barley keep my eyes open at 6.pm . go to half to cut them into quarters as even 1/2 of .5 is too much now. on Zoloft I was needing one all the time . no side effects yet to speak of on the lex. great stuff so far. last nite was best sleep so far. slept 5 straight hrs! no drugs

Lex has worked very well for me. After being on buspar for the last two years or so, I just couldn't shake that last bit of anxiety and it was really starting to take a toll on me. I started lex at the beginning of November. When I started, I only took half of a 5 mg and tapered up to 5 over a month. I held there ever since (still taking buspar, too, which my doc said might help with side effects). Since I tapered up so slowly, I had no bad side effects!

Hoping this is the key for you, Dan!

well the side effects showed up today. skin burning/tingling from the inside mostly. hope it was a one time thing. was like a panic attack feeling with out the panic. it was strange . I was hoping I could still use buspar with lex as info on internet is mixed. I was hoping to start at 5mg but my dr said to take 10mg

I really hope it's a fleeting s/e thing...:/

If your doctor prescribed both the Buspar and the Lex...I would go with that advice (or your pharmacist's) over anything read on the net.

Are you seeing a psych? Or a GP? Most psychs will start anxiety patients out at 5 mg because start up effects tend to freak us out (obviously, haha). If it becomes to much, just ask to go down to 5.

starting to feel it working after several days of hell. cant believe how bad the side effects are. finally today I started to feel calmer and less anxiety. hopefully I can cut out the klonipin soon. I am going to stay at 5mg for a while and see how it goes.
