Feeling extra anxious today

Ugh today I just feel extra anxious. I increased my lexapro from 7.5 to 10mg a few days ago but today I just feel extra on edge. This morning started out fine, I got to sleep in a little and saw my therapist at 11. However, after that I've been having loose stools and it's making me extra anxious (even though I'm fairly sure this is a side effect of the lex). I'm working 2-8 and had to take .25 of Ativan to help me calm down because I was so anxious. I hate this all sad

I was on Lexapro for about a year and a half....I remember the feeling. Honestly when I was going through that start up faze it was the worst time of my life, however it did get better so stick with it!

This is a temproary means to an end...

...and once you adjust and come up to therapeutic levels, you'll likely have a med that performs well for you.

Use your coping skills consistently, hang in there...and post as needed for support.😊

Hi

It seems to be the norm that when you increase your dosage that things will get worse before they get better so stick with it and as SC mentioned use your coping skills in the meantime to help reduce your anxiety levels.

Thank you for encouragement everyOne! It means a lot to me smile the Ativan definitely helped a lot and once I found things to occupy my mind I felt better. It's crazy how these meds help you but also make you feel worse!

Yeah it is odd for sure, but dosage increases in SSRIs are not fun. However, like others said, after you get used to it you feel so much better. That was my story too.
