"I don't fit their criteria" I would like to know exactly what that means because I was told the same thing. Medication wise I can relate. I am on klonopin and depending on the doctor they want to remove it rapidly or give me more. I am so confused over that subject and can't get a straight answer. I did get some help from going to a adult day group therapy hospital. You can go 3 to 5 days a week, you do not stay overnight. This gave me access to a psychiatrist once a week instead of once a month and coping skills.
Just wanted to say I understand you because I am and was going through the same thing...Obviously not the hysterectomy part. But everything else I understand. No matter how bad the symptoms get I have had trouble finding help. I could not get admitted although I now mentally I have higher anxiety than other people. (not that it is a contest) What frustrated me was people the claimed they have a "10" on the anxiety scale often fell asleep during classes. I always reported an "8". For me an 8 is I can barely sit here without screaming. A 9 is I in full panic attack and freaking out perhaps laying on the ground with a resting heart rate of 160.. A 10 is anything to stop this feeling is on the table and at this point I could honestly be admitted to a inpatient hospital. Obviously I avoid getting to a 10. Best of luck to you.
PS please don't give up! I have also sean people that give up. It's not the way to go!
