I think what the original poster is talking about
is private insurance (through work or self purchased) for short term disability is denying the claim.
I have been out of work since September. After a few months they stopped paying. I ended up going back to work but only lasted three partial days. Working with my HR department they also contact the insurance company and approved me for more time. I did so poorly at work it was obvious I should not be back. They don't want you to know that you can have more time. Anyways I ended up using all of mine up anyways and still not able to work. 6 months is the max my short term plan paid. After it ran out I applied for permanent SS disability because it can be a long process. It is my goal however to get better and get back to work. I am just covering everything because I never had my anxiety hit this hard and I am not sure that I will recover this time. I am agoraphobic and if I can't get someone to run to the store I would starve.
