Another update on my son and a new diagnosis for me

My sons doctor called this morning with his lab results. Everything was normal, thank God. She honestly thinks he's just that color naturally. His kidneys and liver are functioning perfectly. No thyroid issues. No indication that it's diabetes. He's just an orangey kid I guess.

That said, my therapist and Pdoc have decided that I have PTSD stemming from trauma I faced throughout my childhood. They think my anxiety issues are coming from that. After talking with them and reading a bit about PTSD, I agree. Although I think I have a pretty mild form of it.

Anyways, that's the good news and the just plain news that's happening with me. I'm so glad to have some peace about this! Thank you all for your thoughts, prayers, and well wishes. I can't tell you how much I appreciate this forum for the support I receive. Thank you!

Good news first.....

Fantastic report for your son...yay!!!! I am so happy for, and celebrating with you and your family! smile Hugs for having gone through it...but what a happy result, amd that's what ultimately matters!

As for your new dx...

...I am sorry to hear of your past trauma. I know how difficult this can be to overcome. However, you are proactively seeking the help you need in order to heal, and be the healthiest individual possible...and that is commendable.

You WILL find the recovery you seek. You are stronger than you realize!

Hi Mrs.Worried,

When having PTSD anxiety/panic attacks are secondary to (a result of) PTSD. So yes, what you have been told and have read is correct. I hope your journey through and recovery of PTSD is smooth. Wish you blessings and peace.

Thank you! I'm so happy as well. I cried a little in happiness when I got the phone call.

As for the trauma and PTSD, I can't say I'm really surprised. I had never considered it, but it makes complete sense. It's good to know so now I can work on reaching recovery the right way.

Yes, after doing some reading and talking with my therapist it makes the most sense. I had just never really considered it before. For some reason I equate PTSD with soldiers and never really thought about civilians having it, which I know is silly. I hope so as well. Now that I know what I'm fighting, it'll be easier to work towards recovery.
