You said, "For several nights I've been having a hard time sleeping"
I take Melatonin sleep supplement from the net or from the health food store, and along with my doctor meds, I go to sleep.
My psychiatrist says Melatonin is OK with her. You can check with your doctor or your druggist to see if it's OK with the doctor pills you may be taking.
I take 1 mg. at night, but they sell it in 5mg pills so 3 or 4mg. might be OK. You'll have to decide.
You said, "I'm seeing a therapist to help me cope with panic
But haven't been able to see a psychiatrist as they are completely booked for the next 2 months
"This is so debilitating"
While not seeing a psychiatrist until 2 months from now is debilitating, you've also said,
"My GP prescribed me Lexapro
But I'm scared to take it as he said I would feel worse"
So, you've already got medicine from a doctor, Lexapro, but you don't want to take it, but waiting 2 months to see another doctor is "debilitating."
You're not even taking the medicine the first doctor gave you.
You know, negative thinking is rough, I use to have it I should know. Could you be like, your own worst enemy, like I was?
While saying, you're not taking your Lexapro because "I'm scared to take it as he said I would feel worse" you could also say, "taking Lexapro might help me."
Why don't we look at the positive way to view this? I know, it's hard, because we've always thought negative. Me too.
But if can be positive going into this problem, which will improve our chances of solving it, we can say, "Taking Lexapro might help me, which was the reason I went to the doctor in the first place, to get help."
I looked it up on the net, and it said, Lexapro is for depression and anxiety. Which is what you said you had.
Why don't you try cutting the pill in half, or 1/4th, to see if it's going to kill you. if everything is OK after an hour or two or three, you can another portion of the pill, until you've taken the whole pill.
Then if it's OK, you can take the other pills as scheduled. These are all my opinions, what are your?
My grandmother had bipolar, but they didn't have any pills for that. when she visited someone's house, she would go into their medicine cabinet and try one of their pills to see if it helped her troubled mind.
Today, by the grace of God, we live in an era, when there are pills for depression. My grandmother would have given anything for that. Instead, she ended up in a mental institution, basically untreated.
You want to talk agony, that's agony. What you've got is a piece of cake. Sitting by your anti-depressant and anti-anxiety pill, coming up with as many reasons why you shouldn't reach out and take the pill.
Haven't we progressed? Apparently not.
Again, these are my views as a bipolar. You'll have to decide for yourself.
