So I'm going on my 7th week of being on Wellbutrin and I'm trying to decide if it's working for me or not. (Or if it's right for me.)

I haven't noticed a drastic change other than I have less of an apitetite and a shorter temper. I have good days and bad days. There's days when I just cry for no reason and then there's days when I can laugh and have fun with my friends. I've noticed I tend to be fine on the weekends and more depressed/nervous during the week.

I know this is probably all in my head, but I always have sleeping problems on Sunday. (Usually fine throughout the rest of the week.) I did start a new job at a bank the same day I started taking the Wellbutrin. I think this job is stressing me out a bit and perhaps that's why i'm have sleeping problems on Sunday and I'm more anxious throughout the week. There's a part of me that wants to get a new job that will cause me less stress but at the same time, I know this is a good job and I hate to let it go. I just hate feeling like something isn't right.

I just feel kinda lost and I'm not sure if maybe the medication isn't right for me?! My doctor wants to up my dosage in a few more months.

I am sorry to hear that you are not getting the results you had hoped for with your new med. :/

Starting a job and an Rx simultaneously sounds really tough. Timing is not always what we want it to be though...and I commend you on taking on the two at once!

I think an extended adjustment can therefore be expected. You have put in 7 weeks thus far on a type of Rx that can take up to 12 to fully experience therapeutic benefits...so I would hate to see you discontinue prematurely...

...still, only you know what you are going through, and this is a personal decision, so listing your pro's and con's of staying the course or not would be a good exercise to help you make your decision.

How about therapy and/or coping skills? Are you able to put those tools to use to help you get through this rough spot?

I am sending you encouragement and positive thoughts/prayers. Do keep us updated, so we can keep you cheered on...in whatever direction you choose. smile

I'm going to be starting up school again here soon. (I changed majors and schools) So I think I'm just overwhelmed by everything right now. I don't do good with change and a lot has changed in the last few weeks.

I'm trying to stick it out. I just can't tell if it's the job that's making me feel this way or the medicine. (Like I mentioned it's a good job...I just have a lot of anxiety about meeting the goals that are expected of me and of course handling customers and the anxiety that sometimes brings.) Working at a bank is a high pressure job. There's a part of me that wants to do something I'm more comfortable with but then there's another part of me that doesn't want to quit this job out of fear that my family and friends are gonna be disappointed with me. (I know they won't be but I still feel that way.)

I guess I'll just give the job and the medicine a little more time and go from there.

Yeah...thats's a lot of pressure and new experiences! Anyone would be feeling stressed.
