Hello..
For 2-3 days, my left side has been feeling weird, like its numb and tigly. Its hard to explain... And now, i cant stop thinking im going to become paralyzed on my left side... im so scared.. can anxiety do this? I can only focus on this part of my body, i feel like im becoming crazy!!
Thanks!

Hi ems,
I am sorry you are feeling scared at the moment. I did respond to your other thread earlier...I hope you got a chance to see it?
I recommended talking to your doctor about
getting an anxiety management dialogue going...to discuss your best options...
...as well as getting started with our self help available in our Resources at the top of the main forum page here. Practicing the suggested exercises daily will make a big difference in how you feel.
The tingling you describe could be paresthesia, caused by anxious breathing/hyperventilation (we do this when stressed w/o even realizing it!) Practice of breathing exercises will help. Find directions for some in the 'Stress Relieving Exercises' link
It is going to be alright. Take these steps and keep us posted!

You're welcome! I hope you are feeling better today...
...put that self help to work! It will start to make a difference with time and continued effort.

I will second SC in reading those coping skills and resources. Once in a while I give myself a refresher (did so today), and they are so tremendously helpful.
Fear of paralyzation is common in anxiety sufferers, but again, like SC said, its usually do to hyperventilation and erratic breathing (caused from anxiety). Sometimes we do it and we don't even realize it!
Keeping posting with us as you need it- we are here for you!
