i think im having seizures... anxiety???

hey, here I am again back with my never ending struggles lol!

i had a bad panic attack at the end of july this year, at the time i was just suffering from bad headaches and other discomforts which i think ultimately led to this attack. i KNOW it was an panic attack because i just knew. so this could not have been a seizure. ( i thought about this and compared it to my other anxiety symptoms ). anyway, a little of august and September i was getting extreme sensations of depersonalization and just... something not feeling right. ive had a minor feelings of this before through the years but NEVER to this extent.

im fortunate that most of my symptoms have relaxed that i was having before so my anxiety has relaxed or id like to think. that is why i think this is seizure activity. now, i haven't actually start to shake or go into a "full" seizure that is also why im not 100% sure. i just get these feelings of intense deja vu, loud noises/super bright light sets off my anxiety and i can feel panic/uneasiness in my body/chest. i try to remain calm because it feels like a panic attack starting but... not really. this usually happens at night, or sometimes during the day. my short term memory is really not good, to the point i have had to write down small lists to keep me on track... this is something ive never had to do.

idk, i just wonder if this is anxiety induced. i have never had seizures let alone these intense feelings of not being myself/something is just not right. im not sure if anyone in this forum has had issues like these. maybe it all really anxiety and i am not sure.

also, i see my neuro Monday morning and will be talking to him about my concerns. i see my regular gp on Wednesday. i have had a mri and it was "normal" among other numerous tests.

Hi tune,

It certainly sounds like anxiety/panic attack reactions. Your Neurologist can order an electroencephalogram (EEG) test which would be able to detect seizures activity. I was suspected of having petite mal seizures and had an EEG test. No seizure activity (thank goodness!) but did confirm what I was experiencing was due to anxiety/panic.

I am sorry to hear about your increased anxiety regarding this unpleasant experience.

Have you been diagnosed with migraines? Certain types can be mistaken for seizures...and a headache is not always present...at times only the prodome/auras.

I would talk to your neuro about this possibility on Monday.

Hey all!

to give a little more insight, i have had intense insomnia for the past 2 months as well and crazy bad night terrors. lately i will kinda wake up and realize my eyes are shaking when they are closed. like my eyeballs, not my eyelids. i have not really been dx with migraines. they just kinda assumed? my neuro wasn't very upfront with a dx rather just shoved pills at me which i did not like. i will be more assertive this time when i see him next. i haven't had extreme pain / headaches for about a week now so im not sure there.

Silent migraines have the symptoms you mentioned...and often a mild/moderate, or even no headache at all.

The sleep issues and the eye momvements/vertigo sx all factor in as well.

Update:

I saw my neuro today. He told me he thinks I am getting these feelings from lack of sleep and things like that (anxiety/extreme emotional distress Im assuming). His attention was on my neck, and when he checked my reflexes in my arms they were nonexistent. He also said I have extreme weakness in my dominate arm, the right one (I get my headaches and main issues on the RIGHT SIDE of my body only sometimes is it on my left) and is going to try and get an MRI of my neck. I am a little relieved, I feel like that is where my issues are coming from. I really hope that's the ticket though, he said if nothing bad is found he is gonna put me in PT or to see a chiro.
