I have been having heart palpitations for a week and my body feels tight and it sometimes aches my hands get sweaty sometimes and most of the times I cannot sleep unless I am talking to someone so I know I feel safer, Please help also when I went to the Er and my regular doctor they said everything was fine.. But i have been feeling like this for a week and its worrying me alot. cry

It sounds like anxiety / panic to me. Especially since your doctor and ER visit cleared you medically.

There are a lot of great resources here, including awesome people to talk to.

Maybe check out some of the coping skills area?

If you’re into reading, I really like the book called “Hope and Help For Your Nerves” by Dr. Claire Weekes. She talks about all aspects of anxiety, including how your nervous system operates and the various physical sensations that anxiety /panic can and can’t cause.

It’s definitely anxiety and the fear of that feeling is feeding into your anxiety. That’s how I get periodically....there are tons of tools under resources. I’ve done a few...also used the headspace app. Have you considered seeing a counselor or anyone else?

Hi KB and welcome.

I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing such symptoms...and the resulting worries they naturally create.

Anxiety can have profound effects on us physically! This is our body's hard wired way of dealing with a threat (flight or fight mechanism)...and also giving us a clue that we need to address and deal with our stress.

Did you make a follow up appointment with your GP to discuss treatment options? Medication and/or therapy are the usual choices for anxiety management.

Self help is another great tool, and one you can get started with right away. See our Resources at the top of the main forum page here for great material to work with!
