21 days on Escitalopram

Hi everyone. So after three weeks of being on Escitalopram I can say I’ve been slightly less anxious. I still can’t sleep for more than 5 hours at a time and I still feel like my heart races occasionally but on the flip side I have my (enormous) appetite back. The only issue I’ve been having is that I’ve been having headaches located around my eyes and temple for the last 2 weeks or so. I’m not sure if it’s related to the head cold I suffered last week or it’s a side effect of the medicine. Either way I just hope it goes away ASAP. I have to see the doctor for a follow up on Tuesday.

Escitalopram can cause sleep problems so it's best to take it first thing in the morning and I have always found during the start up of a new medication that they cause headaches but things do improve after a couple of weeks so stick with it.

Stick with it. Lexapro is definitely an effective drug. I had to get off it because honestly it was a boner killer, and did make me feel more emotionless. Like I couldn't even laugh as easily or hard. But you clearly don't have a penis, and the other side effects weren't so bad, so it should definitely be worth being on... Good luck
