I'm back on 20mg and taking .75 -100mg of trazadone for sleep because lexapro keeps me awake ...endlessly,
Been on 10mg and 25-50 and slept somewhat better than now..I'm not getting the required rest I need to go on the next day..I don't know what's left.. I can't take benzos.. or sleeping pills cuz they're addicting or stop working after a while and I'm worried what kind of toll this is doing to my health.. Doc said 75-100mg for 20mg should do the trick..I don't want to take more..I don't know if I will ever sleep well again. So exhaused and tired.
I"ve tried melotonin and it did absolutely nothing for me.. If you have any suggestions..PLMK..I've been on 20mg from 10mg for over 3 weeks so I'm sure the increase is in full swing here ..ugh

edited to add, I have a pair of those glasses for blue light and wear them on computer or if I watch TV as they're suppose to work letting the body know that night time is here..Suppose to work according to many people as our mind thinks it's daylight from the signals we're getting from our electronics..not working for me either..

PG,
I am sorry to hear of your current challenges with sleep! I know how miserable that feels.
Good on the blue light blocker lenses!!
How about
exercise (but not too close to bedtime!)...meditation and Progressive Muscle Relaxation?
...and have you tried Benadryl or hydroxyzine as a benzo/sleeeping pill alternative?

I haven't tried Benadryl but I'll give it a try
I walk a hour a day (morning only) and sometimes in the afternoon I use my elipitcal machine..Nothing close to bed as well as eating heavy.
I've done plenty of breathing exercises but not progressive muscle relaxation. I have a past with insomnia and require 5 hours at the most and I'm good.
Just hate waking up every hour and after dreams..I try to stay away from any liquids so I won't have to pee but something else might wake me up like a cough from a dry throat (caused by meds occasionally) If nothing works, doc will have to work with me..Thank you

pat. trazadone didn't work at all for me either and was totally useless as a sleep aid but I did find another med my dr gave me that worked extremely well and isn't benzo and isn't addicting. its called doxepin and is an older anti depressant that no longer used for depression -much like trazadone is. it worked great and I had little hangover the next day. I took 50mg a night for about
6 weeks . no prob stopping. worked gangbusters for me. mabey ask your dr about
it. drs are reluctant to prescribe powerfull sleep meds these days as many are considered narcotics. this is why trazadone is so often prescribed today. you and I found out how useless it is . doxepin worked for me though

I will research this med and ask my doc! I will see what he has to say..I thank you so very much.. I was not tired last night and read till late and took .75 traz and nothing.. 3 hours later I finally dozed and probably slept 3 hours waking up after a few dreams..got up cuz sleep would not come afterwards..I'm willing to try anything non-addicting..TYVM. There is hope...
