Hi HW Family,
Here is a little update from this week's neurofeedback sessions. I did 2, and will stay at 2x/week for 10 sessions and then spread them out as my central nervous system begins to regulate itself.
Tuesday's Session:
Felt pretty good after, but when I got home felt like I had flu-like fatigue. I explained this to the doctor and he says that its a common result of being over-stimulated. They excited my brain too much and it exhausted itself, so I passed out for three hours and couldn't really snap out of it the rest of the night.
I was able to run some errands that would have otherwise provoked anxiety, but I stayed calm and wasn't really bothered by stuff that's bothered me in the past. It's almost as if my brain can't physically 'go there' right now. It can't really think bad thoughts even if I tried really hard and even when something begins to bubble up, it sort of flat lines and my brain becomes quiet. It's really odd.
Friday's Session:
After explaining to him my tiredness, he decided to give me less stimulation which lasted about
20 seconds. I felt myself more relaxed in his office and able to hold a good conversation. My partner goes with me to each one per their recommendation in case side effects do occur, and she's a natural calming aid for me, so that may have had something to do with it.
Afterwards, I literally felt like I was (the good kind) high on life, and in the greatest mood. I was chatty, social, had a burst of energy and had some relief from my DP/DR all night. It was
awesome.
Still feeling really good this morning, and am definitely noticing more improvements over all.
If any of you have any questions on this please ask away!Post Edited (Blu's Mama) : 10/21/2017 12:59:30 PM (GMT-6)
