Had my check up today with GP. So I started with 0.5 Cipralex for 22 days then was upped to 10 mg. which I have been on for 10 days. My biggest issue was getting thru Christmas after family loss- and I did- Yahoo!.. but the last three days the muscle pain I get from the anxiety crept up again and for that I found the Lorazepam the only remedy but I am journalling everything and am very vigilante on that med and my doctor is pleased with that.
I have more upcoming family issues to deal with and because of that and because the muscle pain is still haunting me she asked if I would consider going up to 20 mg. with the option of going back to 10 if side effects were bothersome. Going from 0.5-10 was easy and I did feel noticeably better in that my box breathing which was constant before became a minimal necessity. diahrrea basically stopped and just nausea was sticking around a bit stronger and longer in duration..but I can deal with that. She says 20 mg. is a usual dose and she feels when I see her in 4 weeks I will be much better.
What are your thoughts? Might I expect stronger side affects? Jitters? Will I be back to more box breathing?
I was nervous to try cipralex and it was fine, then really nervous to try 10 mg. and I felt relief with it.. is 20 mg. a lot of medicine? or just enough maybe to put me on a quicker road to the old me?
Thanks everyone.

you will have to decide for yourself . if its too much you can always go back to 10. me I am staying at 10 as it works fine for me . things to ask yourself-have I been on 10 mg for long enough to know if this dose is right for me? how are the side effects at 10-managable-tolerable? really only you can answer these questions

that's my problem... am I where I want to be at 10mg?... I think I am closer than not... but it is the muscle pain that comes and goes and it doesn't take much for the pain to rear it's ugly head... and because it is more often left chest pain it is always a scary feeling even tho I have had all the tests to show my heart is fine....Some mornings I wake up and feel ok and some mornings as soon as I
open my eyes my chest is tight or sore ...grrrr

yes the chest pains are disturbing -even when tests show there is nothing phycically wrong. I had them too . thankfully mine went totally away after I started my first ssri. my experience with 4 different ssri,s is that the lowest dose that gives relief is best. my second dr insisted I had to raise my Prozac dose from 20 to 40. it was a disaster and I quit the drug and the dr. now I listen to my body and not what the dr insists . luckily my current dr lets choose my own dose . perhaps with a little longer your pains will subside also.

do you think i should give the 10 mg. cipralex more than 10 days to see if it gets rid of the muscle pain before i up to 20 mg?
I know its a difficult question to answer but that seems to be what is bothering me the most.
Dr. has told me to take 2 extra strength tylenol before bed, I can also rub the Voltaren gel on my sore chest muscle
and she gave me a prescript
ion if I really feel I need it for a muscle relaxer- but I haven't filled that prescript
ion yet. ( she says that last resort)
Not keen on going to 20 but need to get rid of that pain. She says the head jitters and racing thoughts have improved but the body is still tensing up and therefore the muscle pain.

WTOM,
Have you tried Progressive Muscle Relaxation for relief? It could help relieve overall tension, and therefore ease some of your pain. Find instructions in the link below.😊

the muscle relaxer is a good idea. if the 10mg is controlling your other symptoms well -I would stay on it and treat the pains as your dr suggests with secondary med. most muscle relaxers also ease anxiety somewhat in my experience. best try the combo at home in case it affects your ability to drive. your pains should go away in time on their own
