Day 15 effxor xr

Hi there! I’ve suffered with anxiety for many years but it was managaebale. Last year it spiraled out of control and I can’t find an AD that works for me. If you’ve found something that doesn’t cause too many side effects it may be that you need to increase your dose. What’s the worst that can happen? You can always go back down. My doctor says “can you feel any worse than you do now? Try it and if it doesn’t work we adjust.” I wish I found an AD that works and I’d increase in a heartbeat so I don’t feel so awful. Generally, it takes way longer than 2 weeks to see results. Have you thought about benzos to hold you over until maybe 8 weeks? Then you can increase if need be?

There is no telling you for sure if it will make you feel better. You’ll only know if you try, stay encouraged and be thankful you have options right now. I use this app called be okay when I need t manage my anxiety. Try coping skills if you’re not wanting to increase your meds. You have options but stay encouraged you’re not alone. Trust me when I tell you we are all going through this together.

Good! Stay strong and know that anxiety won’t go away instantaneously and there will be bumpy roads. That’s my hardest thing to cope with. I want instant relief and never to deal with it again.

Well I definitely appreciate all the advice everyone has given me. My side effects are definitely not intolerable it's about the same as before I started taking my meds. The only thing that's bothering me is I don't seem to have an appetite anymore ever since I started taking the medicine.

That’s definitely normal. When I was started I didn’t have any either which I didn’t care because I need to lose like 5-10 lbs! Lol Just remember to eat small amounts if that helps.

I really want to be able to enjoy a nice beer or two like I used to as well but I keep hearing different things about taking effexor xr and drinking isn't good anybody have any take on that as well?

Drinking whilst taking an A/D such as Effexor is usually fine in moderation. Some doctors are okay with 1 or two drinks, occasionally for their patients...others, say no...but I'd say most people do it will no ill effects.

However, drinking whilst taking a benzodiazepine is an absolute, resounding no.

(a couple of drinks with an SSRI could make for a bad hangover/bad anxiety management for a few days afterward...drinks with a benzo can be deadly)

Talk to your prescribing doctor, and if you get the go ahead, see how one beer affects you and your management.

Also why would an AD that's supposed to help with your anxiety just make you even more nervous?

Well I appreciate the advice SC the only thing is this isn't really a new start up right because I started taking the medication at 37.5 my on Jan 18 and my side effects had gone away then on Feb 1st increased my dose to 75 mg so the side effects would be just as bad after an increase as well?
