Those are both good tools! Distraction, and 'getting outside one's head' is pretty key. I have had to force myself to get out and do this as well....and as difficult as it is at the time, I am always glad that I did it.
Use of Positive Mantras are key for me. Beyond just trying not to think anxious thoughts...this takes a step beyond, and speaks against the worries/fears. It is actually good to acknowledge the thoughts we are having...and counter the negative/fearful with the positive/reassuring.
