Colonoscopy & Endoscopy this morning

I had my procedures done this morning. Colonoscopy was clean and clear. Endoscopy he saw two red areas and biopsied them. I have reflux and gastritis so he checked those areas. Results back in 5 days. I am really nervous now and anxiety is going up. I’m only 55 and scared 😥

Focus on the fact that the colonoscopy had a great outcome!

I agree with Sr Sailor... the colonoscopy results would be the one I'd be most concerned about going into the procedures. Since that one is fine and the other one seems to show irritation. he's just trying to find out why. We're all here beside you so relax and know that we're thinking of you.

im sure the red could be from the preparation or food intolerance? from what i was told usually if its something serious like IBD they almost know right away an im sure he would of mentioned that think positive ! im sure its not nothing serious


my colonoscopy was clean an normal! but biopsies showed mild inflammation i freak out an thought i had IBD im 25 years old had a colonoscopy thought i had IBD nurse informed me that it could be from the prep then i spoke to my GI an he said everything was normal no sign of IBD

Use your coping skills to get through the waiting for your results. Remember that there is a 2/3 rds chance for a good or neutral outcome...and the highest percentage that all is just fine. Only your anxiety is magnifying any other possibility...so combat it with positive mantras/affirmations!

Celebrate your good colonoscopy results and anticipate the same for the endoscopy!

Congrats on getting the tests done and nothing in the colon. I know they aren't a picnic although it's mostly the prep that's not nice.

I agree with the others. I imagine you're just fine. If you already know you have gastritis then it may well be that the red area's are just inflammation or irritation from that. I think that's normal for people who do have gastritis. Mine comes and goes and I just go with the flow and adjust whatever needs adjusting. Mostly, to be truthful, my anxiety but also eating etc.
