Anxiety 101

Here is one major way we cause our own anxiety !!

We have a thought or sensation - the brain does not like things happening without a reason so we make up a cause.

Because our limbic, system once we are sensitized is designed to look for trouble our laundry list of possibilities includes some scary stuff..and scary stuff is more attention grabbing than a rational thought like oh well that pimple is not cancer it is just a zit!

So we give that scary possibility too much attention and it causes the nervous system to go on high alert and generates lots more physical and mental symptoms we can focus on and jack the whole CNS into a panic attack or chronic arousal we call anxiety.
