Hey G,
I think in many ways you are grieving the time lost during your therapy experience spent with this person. One stage of grief is anger...and I could be wrong, but that is where you seem to be currently.
These are understandable feelings and emotions to have...so I think expressing them is therapeutic. You may even want to take it one step further, and write a letter/e-mail to this therapist, expressing your frustrations. Whether or not you actually send it out to him is optional and of course completely up to you...
...the important thing here is the act of writing it all out...much as you've done here, but directly to him.
The next and crucial phase is to then make strides to move past this. Your therapist likely did not intentionally do you harm/waste your time. It could simply be a matter of incompetence. This is not excusing him...but rather just shedding some light towards what could be freeing you to leave the experience behind you. This is the important thing...YOUR GROWTH...not his shortcomings...because you are the one who counts in this scenario.
I know you have and can continue to have progress in your journey. Old repetetive patterns ARE really hard to break free of...and we all struggle...but we just keep on it as part of the journey.
Glad you came back to vent things here. It is a safe place, and one you are always welcome in...be it a short/simple message, or one more complex....
