Dad died last week...

Sorry I've been MIA...was doing tremendously well with everything lately until my dad got severely sick and passed away on September 2.

Now that the funeral and everything is done with and its quiet, stress and grief have hit me pretty hard. I was daddy's little girl, yes, even at 41...

I expected anxiety, grief, depression, etc...but is blurry vision a physical symptom of stress? I went and got a massage today, but the blurry vision is concerning me. I know stress has many symptoms, but what are the best ways to deal with it?

I don't know you, but I just wanted to say sorry for your loss. Losing a parent is hard. And I whole heartedly agree with grief counseling. It helps a lot.

Stress can cause a lot of physical symptoms. It has caused me blood sugar problems before and again. I hope you see your doctor soon or talk to a grief counselor. We all grieve differently and there is no time limit to it.

Know we all care about you. So sorry again for your loss.

My deepest condolences on the loss of your dear father. Words can't express how sorry I am. I know this pain, and I am sending much love and understanding your way.

Of course grief is a trigger for our anxiety...especially when our loss is sudden or unexpected. Be patient with yourself and the process of grieving.

As anxious people we sometimes forget that anxiety is a normal part of the human condition. We naturally have it in excess, so we are accustomed to be always seeking to manage it...

...but there are times when it is completely appropriate (and even necessary), so learning to accept it and live in that place for a time is a worthy goal.

Use your coping skills to help relieve your physical symptoms...and know that with time, things will less overwhelming.
