Hi again... hope no one minds I'm back, trying to help my wife. So, she's put off her iron infusion last week and wants to cancel this coming weeks one as well (due to additional anxiety after receiving infusions, if you read my first post, then you know about that stuff already and how her anxiety is already crazy) .. The reason for canceling this one is, she went to the new psychiatrist on Thursday, and everything went to hell. She went to see this doctor named Gwen. She was cold, emotionless and had terrible bedside matter. K told her a bit about her trauma/abuse history etc and then when asked what she wanted from Gwen, K said she would like a refill on her 6mg of klonopin and to try something else that could maybe help and stabilize her anxiety and panic attacks. Gwen immediately said sharply "I will NOT be refilling your klonopin at 6mg! That's a LOT of klonopin!" ... She wasn't interested in how long K had been on the klonopin and that it took about 5 years to get to that level. K then had a major panic attack in the office and Gwen stared at K like she was annoyed, did not offer a single ounce of compassion or care and acted like even offering her a Kleenex was an act of inconvenience. Anyway, K told Gwen that she has a long history of trying over 20+ types of antidepressant and anti-anxiety medication, all resulting with bad results. Most, making her suicidal. She again repeated she won't be prescribing K klonopin and as of last week, some law passed that makes it so you have to be an established patient, before klonopin (and the likes) can be given. Being this was K's first visit there, obviously she is not an established patient. Anyway, long story short... She prescribed K Rexulti once a day and wants her back next Thursday. K was able to get a month script from her PCP, but was told next month, her PCP, by law would have to lower K from now 5mg a day to 4mg a day.... that's going down 2 mgs in a month.... that's CRAZY! Her anxiety is no where near even stable and now they want to lower her that fast! Needless to say, I'm angry and she's having back to back panic attacks and says she "doesn't want to live like this, she would rather die than live in this hell" .... I'm not sure what to do, she's not a danger atm, but if they take her down to 4mgs next month, she may have to be hospitalized. She already started cutting herself again today, something she hasn't done in a few years. Anyway, I know this is long.... is there anyone else on Rexulti and how is it working for your anxiety?
Any details are welcomed and helpful! Please...
Also, do we have any legal rights to fight this... it's torture and unfair for her to have to go through all this, when all she wants to do is live her life without anxiety and be happy.... these actions from the new law and Gwen are making her feel trapped and like she has no other options .... and that could be very bad. Thanks!
