This forum has helped with several issues I have had in the past. As a way of giving back I want to let everyone know how effective a therapy animal can be for anyone with either a mental and/or physical ailment. In the hopes of helping others my cat, Gimli who is a 3 year old hairless Dwelf is currently in training to become a therapy cat. I believe his personality will make him perfect for the job.
We will be trying to document his training and success as we move forward with this process. Please let me know what you think.

That is wonderful! Cats are amazing, good luck in your journey together. My guy has helped me a ton when I was having nightmares that would wake me up every night and I couldn’t sleep. He chooses to sleep in my arms foyr the entire night and waking up to him made things slightly better. When I had a bad flare of Crohn’s disease, my other one used to know when I was about
to throw up and would quietly force himself into my lap against my stomach, purring, looking into my face and would stay with me through the whole thing. Sometimes it prevented me from getting sick, others it was just good to have someone there at my worst times.

I have two beautiful fluffy cats.
sometimes I enjoy them but honestly they cause me more trouble than they do helping me calm my anxiety.
They throw up and they almost always aim for the carpet. One or the other throws up a few times a week. Yes we have checked them with the vet.
Sometimes they decide they don't wish to poop in one of their 3 litter boxes. We had to take out the carpet in the room they sleep in at night and put down faux wood so it is easy to clean.
They leave hair everywhere. Even though we brush them a lot, hair, always, on everything and you notice it most as you walk out the door and see it on your black pants.
So great if therapy animals bring you peace but mine don't.

I have a 7 month old German Shepherd Dog. I think she is going to be a good therapy dog for me. If my husband and I argue, she barks... If I cry, she comforts me... She likes to play a lot but doesn't force it anymore, but is always willing. She is always by my side.
Thanks for what you do...
Hugs, Karen...
