Cymbalta

I would add he abilify to the Lexapro before I switched to Cymbalta. The abilify makes your antidepressant work better and is a mood stabilizer. It also stops you from over thinking. I take it and it really helped me. It can't hurt to try.

Cymbalta is another antidepressant I believe SNRI. It is harder to get off of than Lexapro. But it also helps with pain. I never tried it myself. But I know others who have. Some say it is a real good antidepressant.

I seriously would give the abilify a go if I were you. You can always stop taking it if you don't like it.

I know, but the abilify does help the antidepressant work better and it doesn't take long to start working, where another anti depressant can take up to eight weeks. Just the way I look at it. And if the abilify doesn't work then a switch would be needed. It only took a day or two for me to notice a difference in the way I was feeling. But I think a lot and it stopped that. Makes it easier to stay in the "now". It settled my mood.

Abilify is also for bi-polar, though I am not bi-polar. But it has helped me a lot. I hope I am not confusing you more. Do whatever is right for you. I just wanted to let you know how it helps me. I know it is scary. When I think of all the medications I have to take, not just for depression and anxiety. I take four things for that alone. Plus blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes and chronic fatigue. I have three pill boxes. LOL... Seriously. But I am older too and more things go wrong.

Good advice given. Yes i have used cymbalta. Both pain and depression. I eventually moved on from it. No ramble karen great wisdom and hibee et al.
I too feel the abilify route a good move. And it can be for a period of time. I did this.
