So l will start a transition from lexapro to Prozac tonight and am nervous. Any words of encouragement are appreciated. Thanks.

Give it a go. Trial n error brings about the best med and mental health results. And yep changing meds is common these days.

A gradual transition along with your consistent use of coping skills should make this an easy and successful switch. You are moving within the same family of meds, (both SSRI's) so it will likely be very smooth.

Thanks for all the replies. I made the mistake of taking it at night because that's when I take my lexapro. I did so so the first night, was up most of the night last night. So my anxiety is up today. I will wait to take it in the morning tomorrow and from here on out. Insomnia seems to be the only side effect so far, which I guess is good. Once I get in the right schedule, I am hoping it will help.

The Prozac may make a big difference in your life in a positive way, Cashless!

However, if it doesn't work well for you, I bet you will find a pill(s) that will work for you, as their's never been a better time to go on psychiatric medications. Their are so many psychiatric meds out there that really do help people in a great way.

So stay positive, Cashless, and good luck with the Prozac!
