Morning folks

How has your week been? Check in if you have the time.

I’m still going through withdrawal from the Olanzapine and Diazepam it’s been 2 months now since I stopped so wondering when it will end??. I have awful insomnia and nothing seems to help I’m just going to have to ride it out and hope things improve.

Hi Hibee,,

Thanks for starting the thread. I just need to report we got a couple inches of snow last night but it isn't real cold. Though the wind gusts up now and again.

All in all it has been a nice weekend.

I was just curious Hibee, do you meditate? I meditate when I go to sleep (laying down) and it puts me to sleep. I rarely have a night that I can't fall asleep. Just thought I would suggest since it works so well for me. In fact I still have ambien from 2012. LOL... It is a lot of mind over matter but it does help me so I thought I would share.

Sleep hygiene routine is crucial. Same time to bed...pre 1 hr wind down no tech...dark room with no clock. Yes meditation...u put chill music channel on the idiot box an hr before bed with lights off.

Hope things improve soon. It's the mix making it double difficult...brain is adjusting and ain't happy ...it does get better....keep fighting mate. I get ya cracking but what ya brain is in is wash out.

I am so sorry to hear that you are still suffering the discontinuation effects. I know that you are extremely strong in your coping skills and sleep hygiene game...so this must just really be a beast of a combo to get off of...so awful. :/

I had a busy weekend. I teach 3 upper division classes on Friday until nearly seven...and am right back in the studio for a 9-12 block for my younger students. From there I drove, ate and changed for a gig half an hour away and got there with 5 min to spare, and played at the winery that my band is in regular rotation at. So from 1-6...including pack down...I was still 'working' (although I put it in quotes because I LOVE playing shows)

Then today I was kitchen bound making apps and desserts for my oldest's daughter's boyfriends birthday party. It was really fun...but you know how socializing can be exhausting...so I am DONE! In my jammies now which I will likely stay in until noon tomorrow, lol.

Thanks for the support.

Karen yes I also do a lot of mindfulness meditation and have found that it has helped with sleep in the past but it does not seem to be helping at the moment. I think because the Olanzapine and Valium were both very sedating that my brain had come to rely on these medications to put me to sleep which they did very effectively so taking these medications away has really upset my routine. I think HT is right when he said it's the mix making it double difficult, It's so annoying because I think that I would be feeling so much better if I was sleeping properly last night I got 2hrs sleep so have not done much today.

You are a very busy cat sounds like you had a full on but enjoyable weekend.

Do you sing your own songs or do you do covers with your band?

I have written a few original songs for our Worship Band at church, but in the band that I play with at wineries, parties, events...we do all covers. People want to recognize and hear their favorites when they are drinking/partying, lol!

We have an eclectic mix spanning from the 70's to current...and swing the spectrum from rock, alternative, funk, blues to pop and dance music. smile

I would love that! Of course the chance of us coming around for a world tour is pretty much a zero percent, lol...

...so it's all on you to make it to The States, and if you do, you'd *better* come to California!

I see, Hibee, I'm sure the withdrawal is making everything so much worse. I'm sorry you are going through it. I hope it gets easier. Thanks for starting the weekly posts. I love reading what everyone is up to.

Went to Rhode Island again.

I didn't go to Cape Cod because once again the weather didn't cooperate. And at this point I don't want to go there until next spring because now the leaves are off of most of the trees in southern New England.

But it's good to be back in Maine.
