Hello! I am a 30 y.o female.
I can't exercise because I get major chest pains. Running is a big no no for me. It has been like that for me since I was 12 years old.
When I was 24ish, I was at work (grocery store) and all of a sudden I couldn't breathe properly and my chest had major pain. I left work early and went to a walk-in clinic. They only did an EKG and provided me an in-haler. That was the first time having an in-haler. Through out the year that thing helped me a lot, along with fresh air and very supportive co-workers. One thing to help ease my mind is to listen to music. I learned from another person to focus on just one instrument in a song. JUST ONE INSTRUMENT. It helps tremendously when I feel stressed as heck.
During the past 1.5 years, I've been dealing with vertigo like symptoms and heart palpitations. My primary doc referred me to a cardiologist. Had a 24hour monitor hooked to me. Nothing showed up. I went back 6 months later and he referred me to an ENT kinda doc who specializes on Ear, Neck and Throat disorders. I'm currently going to appointments with them for balancing and more.
Last Friday, the same exact episode of anxiety attack happened again. This time, I truly believe the pain was more intense on the chest, right breast. Again, left work early (grocery store still) and went to walk-in. Had the EKG and an X-ray this time. Everything seemed normal. I did use an oxygen tank for the first time. It helped my breathing very well. The chest pain lasted for about 24 hours.
I work at a grocery store Full Time having to wear a mask. That thing is detrimental to my health. I have been complaining for months about it. I know that the mask wearing was a key component to this attack. So now I have a note for work to minimize my mask wearing. That seems to help normalize my breathing a tiny bit. I don't know your situation with mask wearing, but I suggest to stay away from it as much as you can!
Besides stress, are you an overly-emotional person? Do you see a therapist to talk to? Have you been tested for anything mentally? Talking to a therapist is a wonderful way to stay a bit more less stressed. They are very resourceful people who can help in ways to cope with certain situations. I seen my first professional one (having to pay for one, lol) when I was 27. I've been seeing my current one for two years now.
Wish you the best of luck with your appointment. Let us know how you did!
