Horrible left breast pain, anyone get this??

Hi everyone I have been suffering with anxiety for over 7 years now its horrible!!! Every weird sensation (I am hypersensitive to them now) send my mind into deep and dark areas. I am so scared of cancer....it is my biggest fear. Anyway long story short, I woke up yesterday morning with horrible breast pain, my left breast is sore, tender and painful. I am so so worried of inflammatory breast cancer. I had an MRI 9 months ago and a mammo 7 months ago both were negative but I know this cancer is a fast growing cancer so those reports probably mean nothing at this point. My period is due in 9 days and I usually do get sore breasts but not like this and its only one breast. Pls tell me has anyone felt his before, I am so scared and on a verge of a panic attack.

I had a surgery on my left breast in 2000. I had microcalcification. Well when I felt pain in my left breast years later I was worried.

I had gotten fibromyalgia at this time. Come to find out the pain in the breast area was in the pectoral muscle. From costochrondritis that you can get along with the fibro. I still get chest and shoulder pain and it has been almost 20 years since I got the fibro. I also get muscle spasms in my chest. I can't stretch anymore because my muscles always spasm.

It has only been 7 months since your last mammogram so you probably can't get one yet unless doctor feels it necessary. How old are you? I used to get pain in my breasts when I was younger due to hormones and what time of the month it was.

I feel if you are concerned you should call the doc or nurse. You are prone to health anxiety so you are going to worry more.

A lot of times people with breast cancer don't feel pain in the beginning, but they will have a lump or a strange texture to the skin (like orange peel). Generally it is on the outside of the breast. And often lumps can be cysts or calcium deposits.

Try not to worry about it or dwell on it. But get ahold of someone if you are extremely worried about it. It is better to know for sure than to worry about it.

Hormone fluctuations (ovulations, Menses) can cause breast pain, tenderness ,swollen, etc. this can happen x-amount of time before your period or ovulation. It might be helpful for you to track ovulation (which happens approximately 2 weeks after your period) and your period (which happens approximately 2 weeks after ovulation).

In doing this you might see a correlation between your breast pain and the other symptoms with your cycle. This might decrease your anxiety and could be something to discuss with your GYN. I believe what you are experiencing is more than likely a fluctuations in your hormones. This is something I started to deal with many years ago and it scared me until my GYN explained what I was experiencing.
