about 4 days ago I was under a tree during the last minutes of dusk (sun has gone down but it was still light) in Santiago Papasquiaro, Mexico. I felt a very light thing fall on my head and it was on my head for about one second before I swept it away. It fell to the floor and I couldn’t see what it was. I felt it for a second I my hand before it fell and it felt cylindrical, soft and fit in the palm of my hand. I immediately thought i had been attacked by a bat since I have an irrational fear of rabies, and bats are known vectors. However, I didn’t feel any pricks, or hear or see a bat after I felt the thing on my head. I went home and my dad checked my head where I felt the thing and said he didn’t see any marks or even redness. However the next the spot was a bit itchy and redder than before. It hurt a little when I touched the spot but I didn’t see any marks. I guess I must’ve kept scratching it because now it’s scabbing over and looks like an abrasion, but it’s very small. I keep telling myself I’m fine but I’m scared a bat landed on me and bit or scratched me without my knowing. Could this have been a bat under the tree, or is it just an irrational fear. Keep in mind that I didn’t see or hear a bat flying when the thing hit my head. I know this sounds a bit ridiculous but I’d appreciate some answers. Thanks.
