General anxiety

Hi, I’m back on this site for some general anxiety....I’m feeling creeped out and generally just uneasy about getting older, having a hip replacement a lot of things..just wanted a place to come and post....

I appreciate your reply and reassuring words….I’ve always been an anxious person, and really trying to get through these anxious nights..PVCs or PACs this cortisol adrenaline especially at nights after dinner or when I lay down to try to go to sleep..have been told that these are benign…but they are a vicious cycle when stress or the hiatus hernia seem to cause these episodes…I thank you for your reply and it’s good to know there are forums to just post concerns on…I’ve had all the cardiac clearance back in July and did the preop testing this past week…then Wednesday these anxiety PVCs started to act up…really trying as the nurse said, not to stress too much…my surgery is scheduled for Tuesday November 8th.. thanks again 🙏

Still anxious at times, but I do appreciate all the well wishes and its nice to have a forum to come to . A place to check in with others... thanks again 🙏🏻

You said the hip replacement surgery was due on Nov. 8. How did that go?

For a chest situation, I often use a heating pad which expands the blood vessels and puts less stress on the heart, is what I believe. You might want to check with your doctor.

Good to know the tests are turning out OK for the Feb. 14 procedure.

I learned to play folk guitar when I had a roommate who played the guitar. At that time folk music was in style, so I would be closer to Bob Dylan and songs that went, "There's a four-lane road down by the river side where my grandma's cow use to graze. Now the grass don't grow and the river don't flow like it did during my childhood days." (Don't It Make You Want to Go Home.)

So I stumbled upon playing the guitar, how did you come across that?

Thanks for the well wishes.. do you play guitar 🎸… I asked that question to Tim Tam also…it’s a lifelong hobby for me…I think guitars (acoustic and electric) are beautiful man made items..hope all is well

Sounds like you’re getting good care. It also sounds like you’re holding up as well as can be expected.

I’ve had a few upcoming events and it was a difficult time for me, also. I’ve had anxiety attacks, also, and they were atrocious.

Net says, "Clonazepam (Klonopin) is used to prevent and control seizures. This medication is known as an anticonvulsant or antiepileptic drug. It is also used to treat panic attacks. Clonazepam works by calming your brain and nerves. It belongs to a class of drugs called benzodiazepines." (webmd.com)

Net says, "Ramipril is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension)." For blood pressure I take Olmesartan Meddoxomil and it seems to do well.

For sleep, along with my regular pills for bipolar, Lithium and Mirtazapine, I take Melatonin from the health food or drug store. You might want to contact your doctor to see if it fits in with the other meds. Also I sometimes use a heating pad on my chest to help with sleep. You can check with your doctor about that, also.

I think the heating pad on low expands the blood vessels in my chest and makes it easier on my heart. To me it's like a child's teddy bear. It's just comforting. I also use a small towel between my chest and the heating pad to lessen the heat. It can dry me out, so I just have to decide what nights I'm going to use it.

Also, the Klonopin was prescribed to me long ago for general anxiety disorder....
It is used for seizures also...thanks
