I was on Xanax for a long time, taking it sort of "as needed," but ending up being more regular when I had kids because it was easier to just take it at breakfast, lunch and dinner times. Xanax sort of works with relieving your anxiety with a spike up, then it spikes back down. That is what I was told and experienced. (Thus the desire to "need" it more often sometimes.)
So they took me off of it and put me on Klonipin. I took it 3 x a day at meal times. It has worked pretty well for me. I'm on a low dose. I took it at bedtime for a while, and it was fine, but seemed unecessary to spend the money and take one then, so we stopped that. My doctor said it is HIGHLY additive and I need to get off of it.
Now they are suggesting Cymbalta or Prozac. I'm having a hard time wanting to change. It always takes such an adjustment period. (Cymbalta has Prozac in it from what I'm told.)
Any advice on those two drugs?
Thanks. I hope we all can find some great advice and answers for ourselves. I never seem to get the ENTIRE story when I go to the doctor....
